# Marketing

Marketing still needs metrics that matter, or a campaign cannot say whether it worked. The page starts with Meta's list of metrics and its figure, then moves to marketing foundations, brand, and measurement.

The same notes are in [Marketting](/ai-product/marketing.md).

The question behind every metric is how success shows up in a campaign. [Metrics that matter by Meta](https://www.facebook.com/government-nonprofits/blog/metrics-that-matter) is Meta's Hebrew-language page on the important metrics, built around exactly that question; the figure below is from it.

\# Marketting

Beside Meta's metrics, marketing needs a foundation before it can be measured. These notes are marketing foundations, brand, and measurement.

The same notes are in [Marketing](/ai-product/marketing.md).

[**Why is your marketing isn't working**](https://jvullinghs.medium.com/this-is-why-your-marketing-isnt-working-55e761b3e05e) **- The 3 elements of your marketing foundation** are **Brand**, **Positioning**, and **Messaging**.

With the foundation set, the next choice is how to reach people. [**Inbound vs Outbound marketing**](https://blog.hubspot.com/blog/tabid/6307/bid/2989/inbound-marketing-vs-outbound-marketing.aspx) explains that inbound marketing earns attention through valuable content while outbound buys it via paid ads, and when to use each to drive growth. Whichever is chosen, it has to pay back: [**measuring marketing ROI**](https://medium.com/@jcron_89878/roi-what-is-it-formula-5-ways-to-measure-your-marketing-roi-9e67903e9cbf) is Jonathan Cronstedt on what ROI is, its formula, and 5 ways to measure it, calling it one of the most important calculations in the business world.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://www.mlcompendium.com/ai-product/marketing.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
