# User Experience Design (UX)

A product is used through an interface. The page starts with the general UX references a designer keeps open, each with its screenshot, and ends with growth-design case studies that show those ideas inside real products.

The first reference is a set of rules. [**Laws of UX**](https://lawsofux.com/) **is a collection of best practices that designers can consider when building user interfaces.** The screenshot below is its front page.

<figure><img src="https://83674056-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-Mgd48oS5_duTKOVE_Et%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-007157f726dcf5e4378f7e7dc83419d27a91bccd%2Fgimg-87bf86a969f4.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>Laws of UX</p></figcaption></figure>

Rules are a start, but the field keeps writing. [**UX planet**](https://uxplanet.org/) **- One-stop resource for everything related to user experience, a medium publication** is the place for that ongoing reading.

<figure><img src="https://83674056-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-Mgd48oS5_duTKOVE_Et%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-2059d8f941148028157c552d4935194ace637bec%2Fgimg-4ec042ee0db4.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>UX planet</p></figcaption></figure>

Beyond UX alone, the same reading extends to experience and interface design. [**Invision blog**](https://www.invisionapp.com/inside-design/) **- blog posts and best practices about UX, XD, UI**, shown in the two screenshots below.

<figure><img src="https://83674056-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F-Mgd48oS5_duTKOVE_Et%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-6779b673c9d8bc33529f70eb0934928ec634de96%2Fgimg-b330f9a7b4c4.png?alt=media" alt=""><figcaption><p>Invision blog</p></figcaption></figure>

Best practices land best when you can see them in a shipped product. **(really good) Growth design** [**Case Studies**](https://growth.design/case-studies/) show exactly how companies like Tinder, Airbnb, Trello, Uber and Tesla design products that people love, with one new user experience case study every month.

The same notes are in [Growth](/ai-product/growth.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://www.mlcompendium.com/ai-product/user-experience-design-ux.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
